The Rarest Flower
Kristin’s friend Michelle came to visit this weekend from Miami. After bundling her up (brrr…. it’s only 60 degrees), we showed her the best Philadelphia has to offer: a specialty clivia a Longwood.
Apparently, it took Longwood’s cultivators 35 years to perfect this shade of yellow. The flower is so special that only three plants were put on sale this weekend – valued at $899. Narurally, we had to get all three – one for Kristin, one for Krister, and one for Michelle.
The flower’s grand unveiling drew quite a crowd:
After checking out the yellow clivia, we checked out the orchid extravagana! You may recall we went to orchid extravaganza last year when Kate visited, and we are happy to make it an annual tradition. Who’s coming next year???
The shrub next to Kasen & Kristin is made of orchids!
On Sunday and Monday, Sarah joined in the festivities (Michelle actually introduced Kristin to Sarah a few years ago) and we enjoyed an amazing brunch and shared grilled cheese sandwiches during Kasen & June’s most recent date.
It was great to see you Michelle!!!
